The pizza at this Elk Avenue restaurant will blow your mind. Try an award winning Notorious F.I.G. (mozzarella, bleu & asiago cheeses, thinly sliced prosciutto, dried black mission figs and a truffle oil drizzle) or the Mac Daddy (Thousand island dressing, mozzarella, shaved rib-eye, onions, american & cheddar cheese, topped with cool lettuce, pickles, on a sesame seed crust) or Kyleena’s Meatball Pie inspired by the owner.     One of the most well known restaurants on Elk Avenue, The Last Steep is a go to spot for hungry locals and visitors. An eclectic menu includes jerk chicken dip, crab cakes, cajun chicken pasta, fish tacos, and creative sandwiches and burgers. The Ryder burger is a local favorite  served with a slab of cream cheese, jalapeños and a teriyaki marinated pineapple ring. You can stick to the basics with a chicken, steak, shredded beef or veggie burrito or try a taco or tamale. Locals and visitors give rave reviews on their latkes, pancakes, bagels, cinnamon rolls, crepes, breakfast burritos and fresh pastries. For lunch they offer salads, wraps, and a variety of sandwiches made on fresh baked bread or a latke. They also regularly post a snow report- measured in stacked bagels.

Generous single portions of chicken farm, lasagna, stroganoff and shepherd’s pie are some favorites, but a selection of deli meats and cheeses as well as soups, salads and desserts are available.  

MT. CRESTED BUTTE:

    Located slope-side at the base area, 9380 Prime is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Dine inside or relax at the outdoor fire pits while you grill s’mores or enjoy an apres ski cocktail. The conveniently located restaurant has daily specials too.
  • The Bakery and Brown Labrador Pub ~ 22 Crested Mt. Way, Mt. Crested Butte, CO 81225 ~ (970) 349-4757
    These two businesses share a space next to Christy Sports. In the morning the Bakery is a quick option for a pastry or burrito to go. For lunch they make a mean (and VERY cheesy) pizza or if you wait to hit the pizza counter until after 3pm, you can get pizza slices and many of the remaining baked goods for $1. The Brown Labrador runs the bar. Enjoy daily specials at the bar or hang out on the patio and people watch while you enjoy a cold one.
  • Butte 66 BBQ Roadhouse ~ 11 Snowmass Rd, Mt. Crested Butte, CO 81225 ~ (970) 349-2999
    The Butte deck is one of the most popular restaurants for hanging out between runs. Located near the Red Lady Lift, this casual dining experience offers burgers, BBQ and salads. The loaded mac and cheese is awesome. They also have spiked (and regular) milkshakes. Mmmmmm.
  • Camp 4 Coffee ~ 402 1/2 Elk Ave, Crested Butte, CO 81224 ~ (970) 349-2500
    With three locations (Crested Butte, Crested Butte South, and Mountaineer Square at Mt. Crested Butte) you can get excellent coffee and pastries no matter what part of town you are in!  All of their coffee is hand roasted in small batches right in Crested Butte. You can order your favorite latte, hot chocolate, or spicy chai (it’s phenomenal) from a friendly barista or buy coffee in one pound bags and bring the Camp 4 flavor home with you.
  • The Deli, The Store and Treasury Liquors ~ 611 Gothic Rd, Mt. Crested Butte, CO 81225 ~ (970) 349-0306
    These three businesses share one space, located directly across Gothic Road from the Grand Lodge. The Store is a convenient option for some quick groceries or you can get a made to order sandwich, bratwurst or meatball sub at The Deli.
  • Jefe’s ~ Mountaineer Square Breezeway, Mt Crested Butte, CO 81225 ~ (970) 349-4450
    Located in Mountaineer square across from the Adventure Center, Jefe’s is a great spot for some delicious tex-mex on the mountain. Enjoy homemade burritos and tacos with a refreshing beverage on the stone patio or inside the restaurant. It’s a quick and casual spot for a snack between runs or a quick, casual and yummy meal.
  • Paradise Warming House ~ Crested Butte Mountain Resort (970) 349-2333
    Located at the bottom of the Paradise Lift, this is a perfect spot for lunch between runs. Open during ski season from 11-3, you can enjoy hot soup in a bread bowl, wraps, burgers and sandwiches, pasta or Hawaiin style ribs at the mid mountain restaurant. Beer and wine is available. They also offer a kids menu and Paradise has a huge patio for soaking up that Colorado sun.
  • Trackers ~ Lodge at Mountaineer Square, Crested Butte Mountain Resort ~ (970) 349-4228
    Inside the Lodge at Mountaineer Square, Trackers Bar & Lounge provides a cozy place to relax after a busy Crested Butte day. Featuring a wide variety of whiskeys, wines and bottled beer, you can hang out next to the fireplace in comfortable couches and enjoy the large plasma TVs on cold days or bask in the patio sun during warmer weather.
  • Uley’s Cabin and the Ice Bar ~ Crested Butte Mountain Resort ~ (970) 349-2275
    Located mid mountain at the base of the Twister Lift, Uleys is a classier alternative to burgers and nachos. The mid mountain restaurant offers a more sophisticated french inspired menu with items like P.I.E muscles, wild game charcutcherie, salmon filet and risotto. Soups and a meat and cheese selection can be found on the deck menu for those at the Ice Bar or patio. Uley’s Cabin also hosts the sleigh ride  dinner, serving a five course meal Wednesdays through Sundays. 
  • The Woodstone Bar & Grill ~ 6 Emmons Rd, Mt. Crested Butte, CO 81224 ~ (970) 349-8000
    The Woodstone restaurant located inside the Grand Lodge. They are open for a breakfast buffet in the morning and then again for apres ski and dinner. The menu includes wood fired pizza, pasta and grille items in addition to appetizers, soups and salads. This restaurant is extremely convenient for Grand Lodge guests, but can be easily accessed by anyone as it is just steps from the bus stop at Mountaineer Square.
