CRESTED BUTTE MOUNTAIN RESORT'S LODGE AT MOUNTAINEER SQUARE "SELL OUT" IN SIX HOURS
July 23,2005
New residences in the mountain village go for more than
$80 million dollars
Crested Butte, CO -Eighty-nine resort residences in Mountaineer Square, part of the newly planned mountain village at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR), went under contract in Crested Butte in six hours. Total sales will surpass $80 million, the largest one-day sale in Gunnison County history. The last large real estate sale in one-day at Mt. Crested Butte---the closing of 14 Prospect lots, a ski-in, ski-out community development-took place in 2002 and totaled more than $7 million.
The VIP Selection Event (lottery) took place at the home of CBMR owners, Tim and Diane Mueller, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The last residence was put under contract just before 5:00 PM.
Mt. Crested Butte Town Councilman and Planning Commissioner, Tom Steuer, picked the very first unit for his son, John Paul Steuer. John Paul lives in Portland, Oregon, and is using a trust fund from his acting career in Grace Under Fire, a TV show he starred in between five and ten years of age. "I don't recall ever being chosen first for anything, except for the draft!" Steuer said. "We are very honored to be part of this new era in Crested Butte!"
The VIP Selection Event was open to reservation holders and/or their representatives. More than 300 reservations were taken for the 89 available units. The units ranged in size from studios to four bedrooms, with prices from $325,000 to $1,900,000. In addition to the lottery selection, the event was conducted in true "Mueller style", with catered dining, fly-fishing, croquet, riverside relaxation and live music for all the guests.
The Lodge at Mountaineer Square officially broke ground on Wednesday, July 27, 2005. In addition to the luxury residences in this first phase of mountain village development, guests visiting CBMR will see state-of-the-art convention facilities for groups of up to 500, a first-class spa, unique resort retail boutiques and specialty restaurants.
Wayne Trudeau the "mastermind" and leader of the CBMR's Real Estate sales force, said, "I am very happy and proud to be part of this unbelievable team. It took all of CBMR's resources and help to create an event of this magnitude."
